Comprehensive Heart Program

When moments matter, trust the experience and technology of our heart experts. The Comprehensive Heart Program and our Emergency Department are accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Centers,  which evaluates hospitals on their ability to assess, diagnose and treat patients who may be experiencing a heart attack. Our cardiac response rate averages 30 minutes faster than the national best practice benchmark. Our Cardiac Cath Lab and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab teams have been recognized by the American Heart Association with “Get With the Guidelines” awards as top performers in patient care.

HeartScore is a 10-minute CT scan of your heart that uses no needles and no fasting; you don't even have to run on a treadmill.

Other heart and vascular programs at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto include aneurysm repair, angioplasty stenting, cardiopulmonary, carotid bypass, echo, and peripheral vascular.

Women’s Center

Dedicated to diagnosing illnesses that tend to affect women more often than men, the center features advanced diagnostic systems, including three (3) digital mammography units, two (2) with 3-D mammography capabilities, a GE ultrasound unit and a bone density unit to test for diseases such as breast cancer and osteoporosis. A stereotactic biopsy unit allows physicians, through a minimally invasive procedure, to take breast tissue samples without surgery.

Our Labor & Delivery center features a Level II nursery (special care) that can support babies born prematurely by one month or less and weigh at least three and a half pounds—or stabilize more seriously premature newborns before they are transferred to a neonatal ICU, such as the one at Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women.
